How to make emissions-free urban mobility a reality ??
Looking at cities nowadays, we see that most streets are jammed with cars. This does not only lead to slow mobility; it is noisy and very toxic for humans and the environment. With GLEAM BIKES we want to solve this problem and transform the urban movement by becoming car-independent.
GLEAM´s goal is to reduce 100.000 tons of CO2 until 2025 by providing a Cargo eBike, which is built to last, and meets urban needs while is also emission-free. In that sense, many companies need to find a solution to decrease CO2 emissions, due to expected emission restrictions. By replacing the old diesel van with Cargo eBikes, companies save 1.500 kg CO2 on every 10.000 driven km. At the same time, variable costs are also drastically reduced.
At the beginning of 2020, six EIT InnoEnergy students carried out their “Engineering and Business Case (R) project” for one semester, as part of the EIT InnoEnergy Master´s in Renewable Energy. This time, those Master students had developed a project in collaboration with Mario Eibl, GLEAM BIKES CEO, which consisted of preparing the company for a digital future by developing an effective prototype, which can provide many benefits in the product development process.
It was aimed at building a product idea while working to establish the critical details. They also analysed the business and pricing models, including partners to bring the product into the market.
