Estabanell has developed with the students from the Master’s in Environomical Pathways for Sustainable Energy Systems (SELECT) personalized Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools for the active engagement of consumers towards sustainable energy. It aims at understanding how people behave and use energy in their homes, businesses, and in public is an important factor for quantitative and qualitative reduction of energy without compromising people’s comfort levels.
Effective user engagement strategies are highly personalized and targeted, taking into account both the goal of energy efficiency strategies to counteract the rebound effect and to achieve measurable energy and emission savings.
